Training

The various online knowledge sources all have different search systems, different keywords and differ in their subject coverage. We offer a variety of training opportunities on finding information and assessing its worth.

Literature search training

All of our libraries give one-to-one training in literature searching. Please contact any of us to book a session. These can take up to an hour.

We offer a series of standard training sessions but can design a special programme to meet your needs. Our standard topics are:

  1. Health information on the internet
  2. Searching the healthcare databases on NHS Evidence
  3. Using Dynamed effectivelyi
  4. The Royal Marsden Online Manual
  5. Finding and using electronic journals
  6. Searching the Cochrane Library
  7. Critically appraising the research

Training and support are available to any local NHS or hospice staff.
